STANDARD MASSAGES
Massage away stress, tight muscles and pain. Your specific concerns are addressed with a level of pressure and massage techniques appropriate for you. Warm coconut oil, aromatherapy and warm salt stones are combined to elevate this massage to dreamy heights.
Incredibly deep pressure is applied using my feet. This avoids the sharp, pinpoint pain associated with typical deep tissue work. Great for increasing total body flexibility and joint mobility in a stiff spine. The flushing nature of broad, slow strokes is deeply relaxing. This is an intense massage with a big results.
This massage is performed fully clothed on a floor mat. You are moved into yoga positions, giving you a much deeper stretch. Massage and clearing of blocked energy (qi) are incorporated. Thai Yoga aims to lengthen tight muscles, increase flexibility and joint mobility and improve posture.
Ultra runners and endurance athletes can benefit from this massage. It's individually adapted to aid in preparing the body for the event or help in muscle recovery afterwards. Muscle energy techniques, joint mobility, lengthening stretches and flushing strokes to reduce lactic acid build up will help you achieve top performance levels.
This side-lying massage is intended to reduce low back pain, relieve tired, swollen feet and ankles, and provide much needed nurturing and rest. To avoid overheating, time is limited to 60 minutes for those in their 3rd trimester. Check with your physician before proceeding with this massage.
Targeted head, neck and shoulder work to ease tension, relax stiffness and relieve sinus pressure. Trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage techniques and warm or cold compresses help melt away your headache.
My Desert Detox is a highly meditative and trancendent massage. Slow gliding strokes in a uniquely mesmerizing pattern promote the elimination of toxins from the body. More importantly, it brings the nervous system into a ventral vagal state. This is where we feel safe, rested and connected to the world around us. Sinus congestion, water retention and joint inflamation can be reduced with the flusing of lymph.
I offer couples massage on a limited basis. Scheduling is dependent on the availability of a second massage therapist. Please call or text to request this massage and give plenty of advance notice.
My two part myofascial session reduces chronic and wide-spread pain caused by scar tissue, physical trauma, and posteral changes. The goal is to loosen muscles and joints constricted by myofascial tissue (the web-like cover that connects, wraps and supports our muscles). In the 30 minutes of part one I teach you tennis ball rolling so you can continue this therapy between sessions. Part two combines an hour of very slow moving pressure, trigger point holds and stretching. I recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions for 4 to 8 weeks for longer lasting results. Your myofascial tissue should be movable and elastic; let's work together to make that happen!
THE EXTRAS
A profound sense of wellness is the goal of this massage. The release of negative ions from warmed pink Himalayan salt stones helps relieve inflammation while magnesium absorbed through the skin helps repair muscle damage. Great for insomnia, muscle cramps, anxiety, circulation, respiratory and sinus health, mental alertness and detoxification.
Request to incorporate energy work into your massage at no added cost! With intention and attunement, I try to clear energy blockages in the body and realign chakra imbalances. You may feel nothing at all or you may feel sensations of energy moving through you, see colors or images, gain valuable insight, or experience an emotional release. My intent is for you to feel supported, nurtured, and safe to release all that no longer serves you. Often I sense images, messages or people. If you specifically want to know what I observe please let me know before the massage. You may also wish to book a 15 minute post massage integration where we can talk about our observations.
Request to incorporate Gua Sha into your massage at no added cost! This treatment uses a tool, coin or spoon to achieve lasting pain relief and joint mobilization by breaking down connective tissue adhesions ("knots") and scar tissue. The long strokes and pressure of the hard edge of the spoon/tool creates a micro-trauma, delivering healing blood flow. Not suitable for those with skin conditions or fragile skin.
30 minutes of nurturing, hypnotic bliss. Warmed coconut oil cascades over the third eye and down the scalp and hair. After the pour, a nurturing scalp massage works in the beneficial oil, easing tension, anxiety and headaches and improves sleep. Perfect for reaching a deep meditative state and sense of inner peace.
Muscle energy techniques recruit the mucle's own energy and proprioceptors to relax and lengthen the muscle. Examples include post isometric relaxation, ischemic compression, jostling arms or legs, and tapotement. Overall, the goal is to cause the tense muscle to let go.
Everyone deserves to feel protected and safe during a massage. Trauma informed massage is for those with an aversion to, fear of or discomfort with touch due to PTSD, assault, abuse, trauma, nuerodivergency, body dismorphia or other lived experience. I offer two luxurious pink Himalayan salt scrub treatments, a back scrub and foot scrub. Exfoliating, envigorating and detoxifying, these scrubs can be combined with most massages. Steamed towels create moist heat to open pores, then warm coconut oil and fragrant essential oils are mixed with pink Himalayan salt and applied in hypnotic patterns on the back or feet. The foot scrub includes a lovely long session of reflexology. The back scrub includes a nourishing bentonite clay mask and a scalp massage. Whichever you choose, you'll be totally blissed out! Sugar scrub can be substituted for sensitive skin.
Request to incorporate into your massage at no added cost. Cupping is ideal for localized muscle tension. The suction creates negative pressure to loosen muscle spasms, encourage healing blood flow, and sedate the nervous system. Cupping can be used to relieve back and neck pain, stiff muscles, anxiety and fatigue. This is my personal favorite for treating muscle cramps in my neck.
The perfect addition to your massage is with sound healing. The body releases feel-good dopamine and serotonin while active listening brings you into present awareness. Many describe a feeling of transcendence, of being physically lifted and emotionally lighter. The hand drums powerful reverberation brings the mind into a deep state of relaxation and out of anxiety laden fight or flight mode. Tuning forks are used in the beginning of some treatments to help you drop-in to the massage and to align and balance chakras.
